Winter 2015
On Saturday, 11th July, Sandringham had its first WIN for winter for many years at Sandown Road Relays when our U16 Women;s team of Annabelle Eastman, Alice Oakley Kerr and Meg Oakley Kerr all ran under 12 minutes over their legs of 3.1 km each despite the freezing cold and rain to take out 1st place in 34.11, wit
h Annabelle and Meg both just over 11 minutes. This was a truly great effort from them all but especially from 12 year old Alice. We also had an U20 team of Monique Walsh, Clodagh Grogan and U18 Charlotte Simpson..
A big thank you to Ruby Holten and all the parents who helped out on the day; it must have been really cold down on the track, This allowed the acting team manager to stay well rugged up in the shelter of the grandstand with access to hot coffee and Frankston’s usual delicious hot food (always a feature at Sandown relays).
Here’s hoping you all available (together with some additional teams) for the Tan relays on Saturday, 19th Sept. Nicole Jones would love to hear from anyone who is willing to run these.
Annabelle will be representing Victoria at Australian Cross Country Championships at Moonee Valley Racecourse on 29th August and we wish her the well.
