A huge congratulations to our very own Sophia Fighera on her selection to the Australian team for the World Junior Championships to be held in Poland in July. Sophia will from part of the 4x400m relay team and we wish her the best at this event. I think she was a bit excited at her selection!
Next season will see Sandringham start up a 40plus womens team and we have applied for a grant to help with costs of uniforms for the mums.

Keep the Date Free
With the season drawing to an end it is now time for our Presentation Night and AGM.
This event will be held at Onyx Cafe, 328 Reserve Rd Cheltenham commencing at 6.30pm. Due to the size of the venue there will be a capacity of approximately 80 people, so we would really like to see more of our current members in attendance, so you will need to get in fast.
A two course meal will be served with drinks to be purchased at the bar.
Information has been emailed to all members and life members regarding this event.
Costs will be – $35 for those aged 14 and upwards; $25 for children aged 13 and under; children under 5 are free and will be provided with a small meal.
We ask that should you have any dietary requirements that you please note this in your reply to confirm your attendance.
In addition to the presentations we will conduct our AGM and at this AGM we will be reviewing our Constitution and will require your support to make these changes. As this is a lengthy document we will endeavour to email this out to everyone for review prior to the night as this is a constitutional requirement.
The State Championships are now complete and we congratulate all Sandy athletes who competed in both the Junior Champs along with the Open Champs.
We were successful in securing a number of medals along the way in addition to some great results which have now created new Club Records.
Gold Medallists for the Juniors were:
Annabelle Holman 200m Hurdles; Innes Vandame 90m Hurdles; Mietta Russell LJ & 100m; Jackson Wallace Javelin; Jackson Sweet High Jump; Aaron Leferink 100, 200 & 100m Hurdles; Lizzie Dingeldi 400m Hurdles; Sophia Fighera 400m; Khoeby Holihan Long Jump; Phillippa Huse 5000m Walk.

Finally we wish to congratulate Tom Tanojevic for being the only competitor at the recent State Multi Championships and performing some fantastic PB’s along the way.
